It’s time to get busy, again…

Now that the November month is here and before you know it, it will be December, which means is practically Christmas, we need to think about some goodies to make. Last years snoods and wrist warmers are always winners, plus some fascinators will always go down for those who want to wear more statement pieces.. Maybe some capacitor earrings too.

These will all be found at various places around Sussex, including this little lovely pop-up shop by Me Sew in Lewes.

Its been a fun and long summer..

Now that all the festivals and late summer fayres are all over and done with, we can have a well deserved break and just relax for a bit. Not for long though as before you know it November will be here, and we have to start thinking about Christmas.. Even though we don’t really want to….

Lantern Fayre 6th-7th October

Second year running the Lantern Fayre will once again be held on the Level. It’s a free two day community arts festival transforming the Level into a unique environment for performers, traders and artists from across the City of Brighton and Hove to showcase their crafts and talent. We will be there too! Last year looked great with all the lights in the trees along the cycle path.Come and check it out!

Playgroup Festival 21st-23rd September

After severe rainfall earlier on in the summer, the Playgroup Festival got postponed. So now officially the last (working) festival of the summer for us. Last years we had success with our animal ears on alice bands. This year the theme is “Lost Toys”. Well, I must say this summer has been so packed with festivals so I haven’t had time to do my homework. No particular costumes made especially for the occasion, but hey,we have lots of stock still and we are in it for the fun! So ready or not, here we come!

Dress fit for a wedding

I very rarely make things for myself. Always full with deadlines for others. As I had my friends wedding approaching, I was determined to make a dress to wear. The fabric that I found was just saying Vivienne Westwood to me.  Considering I only started the day before the wedding and was still sewing it when my lift turned up outside my house, I think it turned out pretty alright.
