Brighton Fashion Week

Leftover Threads Showcase.

After two months of hard work I managed to get a collection together for Brighton Fashion Week. I wanted to create a luxurious collection but also promote all body shapes.

So here we have all sizes from 6 to 18 strutting the catwalk.

I need a holiday now!

Made To Order Summer Dresses

One Pattern Many Styles.

This is the first pattern that I have made from scratch using a 2D pattern cutting method. I used Winifred Aldrich’s book which was pretty easy to use.

Up until now I was either pinning the fabric on a dummy or copying the shape of  an existing garment to make a new piece.

After a few toiles, trials and mistakes I got there in the end. I wanted to create a pattern that I could adapt to various styles, ie long/short sleeve, a-line/full skirt and one that would work with different types of fabrics too. Here are four varieties all made from the same basic pattern. I’m pretty pleased.

If you would like one made to your very own measurements, get in touch!

How to Upcycle a Patchwork Blanket

Remade Blanket Skirt.

This was a hand knitted granny blanket that I really liked the colours of. I unpicked the seam in the middle of the blanket and added a stretchy jersey waistline.

Perfect for this winter.

Embellished Wool Jacket

I love the shape of this jacket. But it was a little plain. So I added some frilly fringing and lace. Also changed the buttons from plain plastic to embossed silver ones. The flower brooch is removable.  I do take commissions if you want your own favourite jacket embellished.
