What to do with plain jacket lacking character? Embellish them of course!
The floral print fabric on these jackets were cut out from old curtains. I then used the zigzag setting on the machine to do as satin stitch around the motif. Simple but effective!
This is one easy way to update your old plain sweatshirts.
I always sew the outlines on the machine too as washing the garment will cause the bondaweb glue to come undone. Experiment with some freestyle machine stitching over it too for more depth.

I wanted to experiment with some vest tops I had to hand as they didn’t really offer much of a look as they were. They had a string vest like netting on the top and a contrasting block colour underneath.
I started with some top stitching on machine and by hand and then cut out sections of the top layer to reveal the base layer.
This could easily be done by adding various bits of fabric on top of an ordinary top and then stitched and cut away. Maybe a button or two for good measures.
